The review reveals the concept, distinctive features and types of artificial intelligence. The possible fields of application of artificial intelligence in social management, lawmaking and law enforcement are shown. The dangers and risks associated with its implementation are discussed. An opinion is expressed on the legal status of artificial intelligence from the point of view of current Russian legislation and the methodological failure of attempts to “humanize” a robot, apply to it legal categories and approaches developed in relation to humans.
