Pre-revolutionary legal scholars who lived and served science in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries made a significant contribution to the development of Russian law and contributed to its fundamental development. Many of them – V.S. Solovyov, N.M. Korkunov, L.I. Petrazhitsky, P.A. Sorokin and others – brilliant representatives of Russian science who worked during this period, considered the problems of law and morality in a number of key issues of the theory and philosophy of law, constitutional and criminal law. Their views on ethics in law, psychology and morality of law as a social phenomenon, and the relationship between law and morality are presented in this review.
